The Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Workforce Planning Lead to shape the future of workforce strategy. This pivotal role offers you the opportunity to drive meaningful change by designing and implementing a forward-thinking workforce planning framework and associated ways of working and tools that align with organisational goals and address evolving business needs.

The Position

As Workforce Planning Lead, you will focus on developing and executing a comprehensive workforce planning framework tailored to our unique business requirements over the next three years. Collaborating closely with leaders across the organisation, you will assess current approaches, recommend improvements, and pilot solutions within key priority functions before scaling them across the entire business. Your expertise will ensure we are equipped to navigate major projects, legislative changes, and emerging skills requirements while fostering a sustainable and adaptable workforce.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing current workforce planning approaches to identify strengths and gaps.
  • Understanding business needs for the next three years, including major projects, skills and capabilities, and legislative changes.
  • Recommending and implementing a group-wide workforce planning framework aligned with strategic goals.
  • Piloting the framework within two priority functions in year one; iterating based on outcomes.
  • Scaling implementation across the entire organisation in years two and three.
  • Partnering with HR Business Partners, senior leaders, and operational teams to ensure workforce plans align with broader organisational strategies.

This role is a 2-year contract

You are a dynamic leader with extensive experience in workforce planning within complex organisations. With strong analytical skills, you can assess current practices, forecast future needs, and design frameworks that align with strategic objectives. Your ability to collaborate effectively with executives and senior leaders ensures successful implementation of initiatives that address both immediate priorities and long-term goals. You thrive in inclusive environments where innovation is valued, bringing a solutions-oriented mindset to every challenge.
