View Sydney is currently seeking a full-time Conference & Events Executive based at our hotel in North Sydney.

About us

View Sydney is a 213 room 4 star hotel with a restaurant, bar, 7 conference spaces and an outodoor terrace with unrivalled views. The Conference & Events Executive reports to the Director of Sales & Marketing and works in a small sales team.

The role

View Sydney is searching for an enthusiastic and dedicated events professional who is looking to take the next step in their career. Looking after seven meeting and seminar rooms you will assist the sales team in achieving budgeted revenue in the banquets department.

Your duties

  • Taking charge of events from start to finish – you'll manage everything from initial confirmation to final billing and feedback.
  • Putting together all the key event documents including BEOs and contracts
  • Prepare thorough proposals for both new and returning clients, whether it's for corporate events or social celebrations.
  • Working alongside clients and internal stakeholders to make sure everything runs smoothly.
  • Conduct site inspections and meetings with clients
  • Assistance with Banquet operations as required
  • Targets for upselling events
  • Maintain client database
  • Staying in the know about what the competition's doing and always looking for ways we can do things better

What we need from you

  • A strong 'customer first' approach
  • Excellent presentation
  • High attention to detail
  • Solid computer skills including all Microsoft applications
  • SCS experience is desired
  • Previous Hotel Events experience essential
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be an Australian citizen
  • Minimum 1-2 years of hotel or events experience required
