Join our team at Hatch Cafe, Perth's matcha specialty cafe offering Japanese-inspired desserts, sandwiches, and drinks. We're looking for a passionate and creative Pastry Chef to lead the next evolution of our dessert range — crafting pastries that pair beautifully with matcha and seasonal ingredients.

What you'll do:

  • Create and develop pastries and desserts aligned with Hatch Cafe's Japanese–Australian fusion style
  • Prepare high-quality desserts and maintain consistency in presentation and flavour
  • Collaborate with the team on new menu concepts, seasonal items, and specials
  • Manage kitchen organisation, production schedules, and stock levels
  • Ensure food safety, cleanliness, and efficient workflow in the pastry section

What we're looking for:

  • Previous experience as a pastry chef, baker, or dessert cook
  • Passion for Japanese flavours, matcha, and modern dessert presentation
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or in a small team
  • Availability to work weekends and peak hours
