The Opportunity

The Financial Controller will lead the day-to-day finance operations, ensuring robust financial systems and processes are in place to support the company's growth. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this is a hands-on leadership role for a technically strong, data-driven, and commercially astute finance professional.

You'll be responsible for all core financial operations, delivering accurate and timely management reporting, ensuring statutory compliance and providing actionable financial insights to guide strategic decision-making. As the business continues to scale, you'll lead the evolution of finance systems, processes and controls, driving automation and efficiency across the function while leading and growing a passionate team of onshore and offshore finance professionals, building capability and fostering a high-performance culture to support the next phase of growth.

Organisational Structure

This role will be based primarily from our HQ in Byron Bay with ability to commute to other TripADeal sites on an as needed basis. The position offers flexible working hours between 8:00am to 4:00pm or 9:00am to 5:00pm - you choose As an on-site business, an in-office presence is required in this role to foster connection, collaboration, and results.

A Day in the Life
  • Drive continuous improvement activities that enable TripADeal to deliver accurate, timely, and meaningful information to all stakeholders, facilitating good decision-making.
  • Develop and implement various policies and procedures, including an internal control framework.
  • Timely delivery of monthly management accounts in accordance with group policies.
  • Successful completion of accounting workpapers and reconciliations.
  • Technical accounting issues are solved in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Auditing activities are addressed and finalised in a timely manner.
  • TripADeal is up to date with all tax compliance requirements.
  • Accurate and timely completion of payroll reporting requirements.
  • Accounting issues are addressed in a professional and timely manner or escalated to the manager as required.
  • Systems are maintained to ensure accurate recording and provision of financial information.
  • Timely delivery of projects as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer, or members of the Senior Leadership Team.
You will have
  • Formal accounting qualifications including CA/CPA membership
  • Experience working in financial and management reporting functions within a similar, complex, data-led organisation. Experience within a chartered firm is preferred.
  • Well-developed communication skills with an ability to manage and lead all levels of the business and influence relevant stakeholders.
  • Prior experience leading, motivating, mentoring and providing direction to a team of Finance Professionals
  • Prior experience preparing insightful reporting and analysis to inform management decision making including prior experience leading budgeting and forecasting processes, business case development and KPI creation
  • Highly developed finance systems skills, with a working knowledge of system improvement and track record of leading financial projects
