The Opportunity:
This senior-level position is responsible for managing the accounting operations of Krause Bricks. The Financial Controller oversees financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, daily transactions, and regulatory compliance. The individual in this role will act as a strategic advisor to executive management, providing analytical insights and timely financial information to support business decisions and facilitate organisational growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting
    Responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with accounting standards, providing insights into business performance to support strategic decisions.
  • Budgeting
    Leads the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to develop realistic forecasts, monitor variances, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Cash Flow
    Oversees short and long-term cash flow planning and management, ensuring the business maintains adequate liquidity to meet operational and strategic needs.
  • Regulatory Compliance
    Ensures adherence to all statutory and regulatory requirements, including tax, audit, and financial reporting obligations, maintaining a strong control environment.
  • Team Leadership
    Manages and mentors the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous development to build a high-performing and collaborative unit.

  • Process Improvement
    Identifies inefficiencies within financial processes and systems, implementing improvements to enhance accuracy, reduce manual effort, and increase overall productivity.

  • Cost Control
    Develops and enforces cost management strategies, analysing spending patterns and identifying opportunities to improve margins and reduce unnecessary expenses.
  • Management Reporting & Risk Management
    Delivers detailed monthly management reports and dashboards to senior leadership, while proactively identifying financial risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    Builds strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives, operational teams, auditors, and banks, to support financial transparency and strategic alignment.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • A competitive remuneration package
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. Postgraduate qualifications such as CPA, CA, or CMA are highly desirable.
  • Professional Experience: 7–10 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
  • Technical Skills: Comprehensive understanding of accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial analysis. Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems is essential. Experience implementing business-appropriate ERP systems is an advantage.
  • Analytical Abilities: expertise in financial modelling, forecasting, and variance analysis.
