This is a full-time on-site role for a Financial Controller, located in Melbourne.

The Financial Controller @ Stormrake will be responsible for overseeing the entire financial operation, implementing advanced financial strategies, and driving organisational growth. Day-to-day tasks include managing financial planning and analysis, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, overseeing budgeting and forecasting, and providing strategic financial guidance to executive leadership. Initially, the Financial Controller will be responsible for laying a strong foundation to building and growing a financial team over time.

The Financial Controller will collaborate with other departments to align financial strategies with business objectives and support key decision-making processes. This role offers a strong foundation for career progression, providing opportunities to develop executive-level financial expertise and grow into a Chief Financial Officer position, where responsibilities would expand to include shaping corporate financial policy, managing investor relations, and leading long-term financial vision.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in overseeing financial operations
  • Strong skills in advanced financial analysis, strategic planning, and preparation of complex financial statements
  • Experience in comprehensive budgeting, forecasting, and risk management
  • Knowledge of accounting standards, compliance, and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with executive teams and cross-functional departments
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification required
  • Previous experience in a financial controller or senior accounting role is essential
