Position Summary
In this role, you will design, deliver, and refine security training programs, helping staff understand, manage, and respond to security threats and risks. You will work closely with staff and partner agencies to build security capability and awareness across the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging training sessions and presentations to staff and partner agencies.
  • Design and develop training programs and materials that are relevant, inclusive, and culturally sensitive.
  • Review and update training content to ensure it reflects emerging security risks and aligns with Security Framework.
  • Monitor and assess training needs, identifying gaps and implementing strategies to address them.
  • Develop and support eLearning initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to refine training approaches.
  • Carry out other training-related duties as required.

Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a training professional with experience in government or security-related training. You should have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and be confident delivering training in different formats - face-to-face, virtual, blended, and eLearning.

Experience with training development tools is desirable. Knowledge of the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), and security risk management is preferred (or the ability to learn quickly).

You will be creative and proactive in developing and delivering training, comfortable engaging with staff at all levels, and skilled at building productive networks and other government agencies.
