We are currently seeking to hire a Project Officer - Child Safe Organisations to join our Mission, Research and Advocacy team on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract.
The Role
The overall purpose of the Project Officer - Child Safe Organisations is to ensure Anglicare's readiness to comply with the requirements of the Child Safe Organisations Act 2024 (Qld) Child Safe Standards (CSS) and Reportable Conduct Scheme (RCS). Reporting to the Child Safeguarding Lead this role is instrumental in ensuring Anglicare meets its legislated requirements and creates a safe and nurturing environment for children and young people across our whole organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the completion of reviews and gap analyses across the organisation to inform the improvement activities required for compliance with CSS requirements.
- Assist in the development and implementation of action plans to embed the CSS across all levels of the organisation.
- Contribute to the coordination of CSS integration into policies, procedures, and practices.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining systems to monitor compliance with the CSS.
- Help identify and coordinate training needs to ensure staff and volunteers are informed about the CSS.
- Assist in developing and implementing plans, timelines, and deliverables to support compliance with the RCS.
- Support the review and update of policies and procedures to ensure alignment with RCS requirements.
- Help identify and coordinate training needs to educate staff and volunteers about the RCS.
Key Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated success in supporting projects in large diverse organisations.
- Demonstrated skills in building and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management and achieve outcomes through influence.
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and/or Queensland Child Safe Standards best practice
- Clear understanding of state child protection legislation.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Experience working autonomously and being self-directed, as well as effectively collaborating with other team members
