About the Role
As the Senior Manager, you will lead the development and execution of the organisation's data and analytics roadmap, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities. You will mentor and develop a team of Analysts, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning, while championing data-driven decision-making across the business. A key part of the role is to translate complex data findings into clear insights for non-technical stakeholders and collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Engineers, and Technology teams to deliver innovative solutions.
You will also be responsible for building scalable data pipelines and cloud-based analytics solutions, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance with regulatory standards. The role requires expertise in data modelling, ETL, governance, and cloud platforms, alongside proven leadership in managing technical teams and complex projects. By engaging with the Executive Team, Heads of Departments, and external vendors, you'll provide strategic insights on emerging data technologies while ensuring best practices and compliance within the financial services environment.
This role is currently based in Homebush and we relocate to brand new offices in Shelley street, Barangaroo.
As the Senior Manager within the Data Engineer team, you will report to the Head of Analytics Innovation.
Your responsibilities will be; but are not limited to;
- Lead the development and execution of the analytics roadmap aligned with strategic priorities.
- Mentor and develop a team of Data Analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
- Champion data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
- Translate complex data findings into compelling stories for non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Data Scientists, Engineers, and Technology teams to deliver innovative solutions.
- Drive data governance, quality, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Provide strategic insights into emerging data technologies and methodologies.
- Build scalable data pipelines and cloud-based analytics solutions.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency.
- Develop and enforce best practices for data analysis.
- Maintain compliance with financial services data handling and privacy standards.
- Engage with internal stakeholders including the Executive Team, Heads of Departments, and external vendors.
About You
You'll bring:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years' experience in data engineering, data management, or analytics.
- Proven leadership in managing technical teams and complex projects.
- Expertise in data modeling, ETL, warehousing, and governance.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence across all levels of the organisation.
