As the Program Director (Portfolio) in the Technology Service Delivery Portfolio, you will be expected to lead and manage multiple aligned programs, to achieve the targeted outcomes and benefits.

Reporting to the Head of Transformation, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing, planning, directing and co-ordinating activities to oversee and implement the Program from initiation to final transition into operational, business-as-usual management.
  • Developing comprehensive program plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation, and monitoring and controlling program progress, ensuring timely delivery of milestones and deliverables.
  • Defining, documenting and successfully completing complex projects.
  • Building long-term, strategic relationships with senior stakeholders (internal and external); and facilitate the engagement of stakeholders in support of the delivery of services and change projects.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Lead a team to define and manage integrated Program delivery plans including, but not limited to, benefits maps, benefits profiles, strategies, risk, issues and opportunities, delivery plans, benefits realisations plans, stakeholder engagement and communications plan, and assurance plans.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the integrated Program delivery plans and baseline, monitor actual progress and cost to date and forecast progress and expenditure in future tranches.
  • Establishing and coordinating effective governance arrangements for projects and other initiatives, and work collaboratively with the peer Heads of Governance, Comms and Assurance, Head of Technology and Vendor Management including stakeholders, vendors and technology partners.
  • Drive overall performance of the Program, and subordinate projects, including monitoring and reporting of stakeholder management, risk and issue management and benefits realisation.
  • Promote a learning organisation through the ongoing continuous improvement and education of key stakeholders.
  • Oversee and manage Program budget and performance targets, including the promotion of an efficient and cost-conscious culture across the Portfolio.
  • Proven experience in driving, delivering and sustaining a large-scale, complex Program to achieve outcomes in a complex environment.
  • Demonstrable experience in leading and managing geographically diverse program teams.
  • Minimum 15 years' experience in:
  • leading large diverse teams in a mission critical delivery environment,
  • managing contractors and delivery partners to achieve program outcomes.
  • delivering Programs in a leadership position
  • Diversity of experience across the private and public sectors is desirable.
  • Ability and willingness to obtain Government Security clearances, which may include undergoing police checks and other screening processes
