Applicants must already be trained in MSL / Orton–Gillingham. (IMSLE trainees welcome and supported with mentoring.)

In this role, you'll deliver online, 1:1 structured literacy sessions to primary-aged students using the MSL/OG approach. The position begins in Term 1, 2026, with your caseload building gradually as students enrol in the new year.

This role is ideal for educators who love making a difference, enjoy helping children grow in confidence, and prefer working from the calm and comfort of their home office.

Key Details

Location:

This is a fully home-based position. Applicants must have a reliable internet connection and suitable technical equipment for online lessons, along with a quiet, professional home office space. Experience teaching online is an advantage, but not essential as training can be provided.

Work Schedule:

A minimum of three afternoons per week, with four after-school sessions each day from 3 pm to 7 pm.

Training & Accreditation:

Applicants must have completed training with the Institute for Multisensory Structured Language (IMSLE) or equivalent (e.g. Yoshimoto OG).

You should hold, or be working towards, accreditation with the Australian Dyslexia Association (ADA).

In-house mentoring and ongoing professional support are provided.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist 1:1 online tutoring using MSL/OG evidence-based practices
  • Prepare lessons and set clear, achievable goals for each student
  • Conduct 45-minute sessions with a 15-minute buffer for notes and admin
  • Liaise with relevant professionals when needed
  • Communicate consistently and professionally with parents via Zoom or email
  • Use provided assessments and materials to guide instruction
  • Assess students as required, maintain accurate records, and keep anecdotal notes up to date
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe home workspace
  • Complete other tasks as directed

Availability: Online, after-school positions only.

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $50.00 – $60.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 12 per week
