HSV was established on 1 January 2021 as a commercially oriented independent provider of supply chain, procurement and corporate shared services to Victoria's public health sector.

HSV's purpose is to partner with Victoria's public health services and suppliers to support better value for the public health sector and better outcomes for their patients.

Our focus is on the end-to-end supply chain needs of health services, including operating the State Supply Chain, to ensure Victoria's public health services have access to goods that may be in higher demand or difficult to access. Under the Health Services Act 1988 (Vic), we administer compliance-related functions, and work with health services to assist them in meeting compliance and probity obligations.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Distribution Centre Operations, the Distribution Centre Manager is responsible for leading HSV's large-scale medical device warehouse operations. The role drives operational excellence, workforce capability, and continuous improvement to ensure timely, compliant, and high-quality delivery of healthcare products to public hospitals and health services across Victoria.

Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading, mentoring, and developing a multi-disciplinary workforce, fostering a high-performance and safety-first culture.
  • Managing day-to-day distribution operations across receiving, storage, inventory, and dispatch to meet performance targets.
  • Ensuring compliance with ISO standards, TGA regulations, and quality assurance protocols.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives and implementing lean and digital solutions to enhance efficiency.
  • Managing financial and operational performance, ensuring cost-effectiveness while meeting SLAs.
  • Promoting HealthShare Victoria's BeSafe culture and upholding HSV's values of collaboration and excellence.

About you:

  • 5+ Years as a senior leader within a Retail, FMCG, 3PL or Pharmaceutical/healthcare distribution environment is essential.
  • Demonstrated end to end knowledge of Supply Chain operations with a strong proven background in labour planning, cost management and industrial relations.
  • Exposure to Tier 1 warehouse management system from a functional perspective is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated history of team development and leading teams through significant periods of change.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the value of process particularly when it comes to safety, efficiency, and optimising and a track record for successfully managing complex logistics requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience managing contractors and suppliers from an SLA and KPI perspective.
  • Experience in full project life cycle within Logistics.
