Project Manager

THE ROLE 

Join Downer's Energy & Utilities business as a Project Manager in our Gas Networks & Services team at our Derrimut office. In this important role, you will oversee the safe, efficient, and high-quality construction of critical gas infrastructure projects. You will collaborate closely with clients, contractors, and internal delivery teams to ensure that projects are executed according to their scope, on budget, and meet the highest standards of safety and performance.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

• Guide and coach others to promote a Zero-Harm culture proactively and visibly.

• Responsible for implementing and contributing to developing project delivery plans to manage and control projects.

• Provide leadership & direction to achieve project objectives (includes standards and procedures and provide advice regarding technical issues)

• Manage projects following the Downer Project Management Delivery model.

• Support the estimating team to ensure robust tender inputs and provide support through Downer Governance reviews to ensure best practice estimating.

 ABOUT YOU 

You're a capable and motivated project leader who thrives in delivering complex infrastructure works safely, on time, and to a high standard. With a background in gas, civil, or utility projects, you bring a collaborative approach, strong commercial awareness, and the confidence to guide teams, manage stakeholders, and drive successful project outcomes.

• Ideally, you should have a tertiary engineering qualification or something similar, a current driver's licence, and a proven track record as a project manager or senior project engineer looking to step up, preferably with experience in gas or civil projects.

• Knowledge of gas distribution networks and pressure regulation facilities is preferred.
