The opportunity

Downer's Energy & Utilities – Gas Projects Division is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Gas Supervisor to oversee the delivery of gas distribution construction projects. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role is responsible for supervising field and contract personnel, ensuring construction activities are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required standards. 

This is a full-time permanent role based out of our Derrimut location with regular time spent in the field. A Tool of Trade Vehicle will be provided on top of a competitive remuneration package. 

What we're looking for

We're seeking a candidate with:

  • Trade qualifications in gas industry-related areas (Cert IV in Gas Operations or equivalent desirable)
  • Frontline Management Certificate or equivalent (desirable)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in utilities (Gas, Water, Telecommunications, Power)
  • Proven leadership and workforce management experience
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Practical knowledge of gas network maintenance and construction
