Melbourne, Victoria, Australia McConnell Dowell Constructors (Aust) Pty Ltd Full time $80,000 - $120,000 per year

About the role

Join McConnell Dowell's Australian Business Unit as a Digital Engineering Coordinator, helping to shape the future of how we deliver infrastructure.

As the central point of contact for all digital engineering activities across the BU, you will ensure our tools, data standards, and workflows are consistently applied — enabling efficient collaboration, reducing rework, and enhancing project outcomes.

Working closely with the Senior Digital Engineering Manager and Engineering teams, you will embed "digital by default" practices into every stage of the project lifecycle, driving innovation and efficiency across all the phases of a construction project, from tenders to delivery.

This is a full-time position with standard Monday–Friday hours. Flexible working arrangements, including work-from-home options, will be available after the probation period.

Key responsibilities:

  • Act as the key point of contact for digital engineering activities across the Australian BU.
  • Support project and tender teams in using digital tools effectively to improve efficiency and outcomes.
  • Coordinate and manage digital engineering systems such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, ProjectWise, Revizto, BIM360, ArcGIS, Propeller, and Power BI.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation and data environments, including EIRs, MIDPs, and Common Data Environment (CDE) management from bid through to handover.
  • Drive digital innovation by identifying opportunities to automate, visualise, and improve digital delivery processes across the business.

About you

You are enthusiastic, tech-savvy, and passionate about helping people work smarter. You bring a balance of construction understanding, problem-solving ability, and strong communication skills — especially when supporting teams through challenges.

You will bring:

  • Construction or infrastructure project experience (essential).
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, customer-focused attitude.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and problem-solving mindset.
  • Strong interest or experience with digital tools such as Autodesk products, BIM/modelling, GIS, or data analytics.
  • Desirable: skills in Microsoft platforms, AI applications, or coding.

Don't tick all the boxes but you're still excited about this opportunity? We're dedicated to building a diverse workplace, so we also look at applicants with great transferable skills from similar industries.

If that's you, we encourage you to still apply as you may just be the right candidate for this role or one of our other opportunities.
