• Base Salary Range: $125,183 - $130,779 p.a
• In addition to base salary, this position attracts Superannuation, Leave Loading, Zone Allowance and once off Incidental Payment (conditions apply), Professional Development Allowance, and Salary Sacrificing Benefits (salary packaging).

Port Augusta Hospital and Regional Health Service

The Port Augusta Hospital and Regional Health Service is a large regional hospital that provides a wide range of services including emergency, general and surgical, maternity, outpatient, and outreach services. The hospital has 58 beds including flex and monitored beds. The Port Augusta Hospital also has chemotherapy services and has a Renal Dialysis Unit and a Paediatric Department, both of which are the largest outside of Adelaide. Our staff work in close partnership with community health services and Aboriginal health providers, to ensure that optimum care is delivered to all areas of the community. About the Role:

The Nurse Unit Manager uses their clinical knowledge and experience to coordinate and oversee patient care delivery within the Emergency Department and Monitored Bed Unit. This role focuses on the leadership, management, and coordination of nursing/midwifery and multidisciplinary team activities to ensure continuity, high-quality care, and optimal patient outcomes.

Employees in this role are accountable for the results of nursing, midwifery, and multidisciplinary practices in their area, addressing any inconsistencies between practice and policy. They also lead team development and foster a positive work culture, prioritising patient safety and the achievement of care standards.

About You:

• Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
• Registered Nurse and or Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience.
• Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing and/or midwifery practice in accordance with the relevant standards.
• Experience in management and leadership roles.
• Experience in the supervision of students, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.
