Where you'll be working
The Cancer Institute NSW is the NSW Government's cancer control agency, established to lessen the impact of cancer across the state.
Working at the Cancer Institute NSW means joining a team of committed and dedicated staff who are proud to be a part of the Institute's purpose of overseeing and accelerating the effectiveness of cancer control in NSW.
The Strategic Research and Innovation Division engages with the other divisions in the Cancer Institute NSW, community, consumers, health professionals, researchers, governments, and charity organisations to:
- invest in cancer research through the provision of grants that build research capacity and foster
innovation in, and translation of, cancer research across all parts of cancer care into improved cancer outcomes,
- support clinical trials for people with cancer in NSW through the Cancer Institute NSW Clinical Trials program,
- manage the NSW Population and Health Services Research Ethics Committee,
- manage the Data and Research Governance processes for the Cancer Institute NSW, and
- improve the ability to link data to support cancer control research and better understand people's overall health

What you'll be doing
The primary purpose of the role is to undertake responsibilities within divisional projects and initiatives to ensure achievement of the Clinical Trials Program objectives.
Remuneration/Benefits
In addition to base salary:
- 12% superannuation
- 4 weeks annual leave (plus 17.5% leave loading)
- 10 days sick leave
- 40 hours per week which include accrual of monthly Allocated Day Off (ADO) x 12 per year.

Essential requirements
- Demonstrated relevant experience in health program planning and project management, including utilising project management tools.
- Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline and/or demonstrated equivalent, relevant professional experience.
- Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality reports, correspondence, and briefing papers.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with good attention to detail and the ability to consult, collaborate, and build effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn new systems.
- Sound understanding of health systems in NSW and the Commonwealth
- Understanding of cancer clinical trial landscape and conduct in NSW, with relevant experience in a research or health care setting is considered desirable.

- Please describe a data-related project you have worked on. How did you maintain a high level of attention to detail throughout the project? How did you engage and communicate with stakeholders? How did you balance this work with other responsibilities and manage competing priorities?
