About the role
The Executive Director, Delivery will lead project teams delivering new and upgraded school projects – ensuring delivery to time, budget and government requirements.
This role involves providing high-level support and strategic advice to the Deputy Secretary, School Infrastructure, while working collaboratively across the department and government to achieve optimal outcomes for public education. Key responsibilities include managing stakeholder relationships, driving continuous improvement, overseeing governance and decision-making processes, managing budgets, and in support of the department's broader educational objectives.

About you
We are looking for a senior leader with extensive end-to-end experience delivering major infrastructure projects within large, complex environments. Your expertise in managing the full lifecycle of infrastructure projects is essential to success in this role. You are highly skilled at navigating challenges, ensuring projects meet deadlines, stay within budget, and align with strategic goals.
Experience working within a government setting is highly regarded. Your ability to lead teams, engage stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement will be key to fostering a high-performance culture. With your strategic mindset and hands-on approach, you will help steer projects to successful outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Expertise as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in infrastructure and a proven track record in delivering major projects within large, complex environments.
- Demonstrated extensive experience at a senior level in the management in a large complex organisation.
- Stakeholder management expertise and experience to navigate through government processes (including Local Government and community engagement) combined with strong leadership skills with the ability to drive performance in complex, politically and commercially sensitive environment
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in construction management, building, project management or engineering or equivalent experience.
- Current general construction induction card (White card), or attainment of one within a reasonable timeframe.
- Hold a valid clearance to work with children (Working with Children Check).
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
As a condition of employment, successful candidates who have not previously worked for the department will be required to provide a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) Clearance number. This option would allow the WWCC to naturally expire without further communication needed with the employee. The employer obligations under the WWCC would apply for duration of the WWCC's validity (up to 5 years).
