Why Thryv?
Local Impact, National Opportunity
This isn't just another remote role—it's your launchpad into face-to-face sales and long-term career growth. You'll spend around 70% of your time connecting with clients via phone and 30% meeting them in person, building trust and delivering real outcomes in your local market. You'll gain hands-on experience across the full sales cycle, sharpen your consultative selling skills, and position yourself for promotion into our highest-paid Business Advisor roles. If you're looking for a role that blends flexibility, impact, and upward mobility—this is it.
Grow Your Career, Grow Your Paycheque
This role is designed as a stepping stone to our top-tier Business Advisor positions. With strong performance and client rapport, you'll be first in line for promotion into our face-to-face sales team, where earning potential and impact reach new heights.
Flexibility That Actually Works
Enjoy the best of both worlds: the structure and support of a remote-first team, with the autonomy to meet clients locally. Whether you're returning to the workforce or looking to accelerate your career, we offer flexible arrangements that fit real life.
A Bit About Us
At Thryv, we're fiercely devoted to the success of local businesses. For over 125 years, we've helped small businesses compete and win—starting with directories and evolving into cutting-edge software, automation tools, and digital marketing services. Today, we help Aussie and Kiwi business owners manage their time, connect with customers, and grow with confidence.
We're not just selling software. We're selling time, sanity, and success. And we're looking for sales legends (or legends-in-training) to join our fully remote team—no commute, no office politics, and yes, we do have a dress code (from the waist up).
What You'll Do:
- Dial & Deliver: Spend most of your day (about 70%) charming Aussie business owners over the phone. Yes, it's still the most powerful sales tool—especially when used with purpose and personality.
 - Follow-Up Fanatic: Leads don't ghost you—you ghost them (with follow-ups). SMS, email, calls, and virtual meetings are your toolkit for making sure no opportunity slips through the cracks.
 - Pitch & Partner Pro: Team up with Software Sales and Client Success Managers to turn curiosity into commitment. You're not just selling software—you're solving problems.
 - Demo Dynamo: Help deliver software demos that make clients say, "Where has this been all my life?" You're the hype squad, not the solo act.
 - Face-to-Face Finisher: When the timing's right, you'll step out from behind the screen and meet clients in person—because sometimes, a handshake seals the deal better than a click.
 - Relationship Rockstar: Keep the good vibes going post-sale with 6 months of nurturing, onboarding support, and success check-ins.
 - Revenue Partner: Hit targets, celebrate wins, and build your path to our highest-paid Business Advisor roles. Your hustle here opens doors there.
 - Relationship Rockstar: Nurture new clients for up to 6 months post-sale, ensuring smooth onboarding and long-term satisfaction.
 - Revenue Partner: Work hand-in-hand with our sales and success teams to drive SaaS growth and celebrate shared wins

A day in the life of a Software Account Representative
- Self-Source & Connect: You'll proactively source your own leads and reach out to Aussie business owners via phone, SMS, email, video calls, and virtual meetings. You're not waiting for leads—you're creating them.
 - Pitch, Meet & Close From first contact to final handshake, you own the sales journey. You'll book and attend both virtual and face-to-face appointments to close deals, combining the reach of remote selling with the impact of in-person engagement. This is hybrid telesales with full-cycle ownership.
 - Follow-Up Fanatic: You'll stay organised and persistent, managing your own follow-up cadence across calls, texts, and emails to ensure every opportunity is worked thoroughly. You know how to keep momentum going and conversations alive.
 - Account Management: Your relationship doesn't end at the sale. You'll support clients for up to 6 months post-sale with onboarding, check-ins, and proactive success meetings to ensure they get the most out of Thryv.
 - Train & Improve: Dedicate time each day to sharpen your skills. Whether it's learning more about our software, joining team huddles, or getting feedback in coaching sessions—you're always levelling up.

What makes you stand out from the rest
- Full-Cycle Sales Pro: You've done it all—prospecting, pitching, closing, and nurturing. You know how to build a pipeline from scratch and turn conversations into long-term clients. You don't just follow the sales process—you own it.
 - Driven & Dynamic: You bring energy, ambition, and a growth mindset to everything you do. You're the kind of person who sets goals, smashes them, and then asks, "What's next?"
 - Sales Swagger with Substance: You're passionate about helping Aussie businesses thrive, and you bring a consultative edge to every conversation. You don't just sell—you solve.
 - People Magnet: Whether it's over the phone, on Zoom, or across a café table, you know how to connect. Your communication skills are sharp, your empathy is real, and your follow-through is flawless.
 - Tech Confident: You're quick to pick up new systems and tools, and you're comfortable navigating platforms like Thryv. You use tech to work smarter, not harder.
 - Business-Savvy Brain: You speak the language of business—customers, invoices, profit margins, and growth strategies. You understand what matters to business owners and tailor your approach accordingly.
 - Call Centre/Corporate Experience? Nice to have, but not essential. What we really care about is your mindset, your hustle, and your ability to deliver results.

A Note for Parents Returning to the Workforce
We get it. You've mastered multitasking, negotiation, and crisis management (aka parenting). You're resilient, hardworking, and ready to re-enter the workforce—but you need flexibility. We offer that. In fact, we're unique in offering flexible work arrangements that actually work. We welcome parents with open arms and open calendars.
We'll consider part-time hours for the right candidate, provided you can work at least four 8-hour shifts per week, Monday to Friday. We do ask that all employees arrange alternative care for dependants during scheduled work hours—because selling software while juggling snack requests is a heroic feat, but not one we recommend.
What We're Looking For
- Proven sales experience: You've run the full sales cycle and know how to self-source, pitch, close, and manage accounts.
 - Positive, driven personality: You're goal-oriented, resilient, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
 - Strong communicator: You build trust quickly and know how to tailor your message to different business owners.
 - Tech confident: You're comfortable learning new systems and using tools to work smarter.
 - Commercially aware: You understand business basics like customers, invoices, and profit and use that knowledge to guide conversations.
 - Relationship-focused: You genuinely enjoy helping clients succeed and know that long-term value starts

Remuneration
This role offers a total remuneration package of $100K, with the potential to earn more through sales overperformance. If you're driven, personable, and ready to make an impact—this is your opportunity.
What We Offer
- Career progression – fast-tracked growth into our highest-paid Business Advisor roles.
 - Commission opportunities – earn from the deals you close, with no cap on potential.
 - Flexible hours – ideal for parents or anyone needing real-life balance.
 - Local impact – build relationships in your community through virtual and face-to-face sales.
 - Supportive culture – daily coaching, team huddles, and a fun, values-driven team.
 - Annual salary reviews and performance recognition.

Please note: This position commences 5th November 2025
