The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our Cooling Division in Forrestdale, WA. This full-time, permanent role will be responsible for Month-End management and stewardship of the Balance Sheet as well as Income Statement reporting. In addition, this role provides functional supervision of the broader Australian Group Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions.

This position would suit a candidate who can inspire and mentor, guiding team members and other internal stakeholders through new processes and ensuring smooth business operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Financial Controller of our Cooling Division, your main responsibilities will include:

Key Financial Accountant functions such as;

  • Bank reconciliation,
  • Assist with Accounts Receivable functions,
  • Calculate and report payroll tax and PAYG as well as annual payroll liabilities,
  • AS preparation and return,
  • Maintain fixed asset register,
  • Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts,
  • Prepare monthly financial reports as requested,
  • Assist with month and year-end closings,
  • Prepare tax computations and returns,
  • Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.

Key AP/AR Management functions such as;

  • Oversee end-to-end AP and AR processes,
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities related to AP and AR,
  • Prepare and analyze AP/AR metrics and reports for management, highlighting trends, risks and opportunities,
  • Provide insights to improve cash flow management and working capital,
  • Continue to drive forward the adoption of automation across our AP and AR functions.

About You

To be considered for this position you will ideally have:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent, and relevant qualification – e.g. Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA).
  • Previous experience of general accounting, reporting and knowledge of local, state and federal laws regarding accounting, finances and taxation.
  • Familiar with AI tools and previous experience of financial automation would be beneficial.
  • Keen to build strong working relationships within your team and other departments to ensure smooth business operations.
