Parker Black and Forrest are the leading distributor of commercial door hardware and locksmithing services to the Western Australian commercial marketplace.  We are expanding our tenders and specification team and are seeking the services of a motivated and hardworking person to apply for the role of Specification Consultant/Scheduler, based at our office in Osborne Park, Perth W.A.

The Role

You will be liaising with builders and architects to ensure the successful specification and scheduling of commercial door hardware projects for tender.  The successful applicant will be required to manage several projects simultaneously and this role will involve the following:

  • Document review and preparation of tender Requests for Information (RFIs);
  • Preparation of commercial door hardware schedules for tender;
  • Review and updates of tender schedules before and after award;
  • Preparation and management of contract variations;
  • Peer review and quality assurance tasks;
  • Relationship building with clients and suppliers.

The person

The successful applicant will have the following attributes:

  • Knowledge of commercial door hardware products and functions;
  • Display a strong work ethic and have great attention to detail;
  • Be well presented and have excellent written and communication skills;
  • Problem solving and the ability to think and act proactively;
  • A self-starter with the ability to work autonomously;
  • Offer proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; and
  • Exhibit a mature and harmonious character.

Experience working within the door hardware, 1st fix carpentry and/or locksmithing industry will be highly regarded.
