Dwelcom is a construction main contractor that operates across Australia providing remediation services for existing residential and commercial buildings, and construction responses to home warranty insurance scheme claims. Dwelcom Pty Ltd is part of the Maincom Group of businesses.
We are seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor with a great attitude and a passion for delivering projects to a high-quality standard, on time, and within budget.
The role is based out of our office in Oakleigh South, VIC and reports to the State Manager. The role will assess, scope, and deliver remediation projects in Melbourne and across Victoria, working closely with our contracts administration and estimating teams.
This is a full-time role that requires a leader who's not afraid to roll up their sleeves, get on site, and drive results firsthand.
This isn't a desk-bound role. We're after someone who thrives in the thick of it — coordinating delivery, liaising with homeowners, strata managers, and insurers; assessing issues, and ensuring remediations are undertaken competently and with care. You'll be the key point of contact on the ground, setting the tone for quality, compliance, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end delivery of defect and remediation works resulting from home warranty insurance claims and building defect assessments.
- Site inspections, building defects assessment, and scoping of required works. Includes preparation and delivery of associated reports.
- Coordination and overseeing of suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely and high-quality delivery on time and within budget.
- Development of project programs and scheduling.
- Be on-site regularly — leading by example, solving problems on the spot, and keeping projects moving.
- Ensure all works comply with relevant building codes and regulations, and customer expectations.
- Liaise with assessors, engineers, homeowners, and insurers with professionalism and empathy.
- Maintain detailed site documentation and progress reporting
Stakeholder Communication:
- Act as the main point of contact for customers, providing regular project updates and addressing any concerns.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Conduct project meetings and prepare reports on project status, risks, and outcomes.
What We're Looking For:
- Trade qualified carpenter with minimum 5 years' experience post qualification.
- 5+ years proven experience in residential construction, ideally with a background in defect identification, remediation, or insurance-based work.
- Working knowledge of building codes, warranty insurance processes, and compliance standards, with a sound understanding of construction methodologies.
- Proven experience managing budgets, schedules, and project resources effectively.
- The ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritising workflows and responses.
- The ability to write reports and scopes of work for remediation projects.
- Computer literacy with demonstrated experience in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong communication skills including proficiency in written communication and reporting.
- Ideally you will have previous experience assessing and managing repairs arising from insurance claims.
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required.
Communications is the key dynamic to our business. You will be skilled in maintaining and developing working relationships with new and prospective customers and subcontractors.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary
- Company provided vehicle and travel expenses, laptop, and mobile phone.
- Professional development and growth opportunities within the company
Please note: A police check will form part of the recruitment process.
Due to the high interest in this role, only candidates that are selected for interview will be contacted.
