Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager / Contracts Administrator to join their growing team, supporting utility-scale solar and battery energy storage (BESS) projects. This role manages both head contracts with clients and subcontracts with suppliers, ensuring our commercial position is protected across the full contract chain.

You'll oversee contract administration, procurement strategies, financial management, and risk control. Your expertise will drive strong project outcomes while building trusted relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, negotiate, and manage head contracts with clients
  • Prepare and administer subcontract packages, claims, and variations
  • Lead commercial meetings and resolve disputes commercially
  • Manage procurement strategies, supplier negotiations, and risk exposure
  • Monitor project financial performance, cost-to-complete reviews, and margin analysis
  • Ensure compliance with Security of Payment legislation and Australian Standards

What We're Looking For

  • Degree in Law, Commerce, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or similar
  • 5+ years' experience in contract administration, commercial management, or quantity surveying (ideally)
  • Strong knowledge of head contract and subcontract management, AS4000/AS2124, and Security of Payment legislation
  • Financial acumen and ability to manage multiple subcontractor packages
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
