Operations Manager

Tranex Solar is a market-leading Balance of Plant (BoP) Contractor specialising in the construction of utility-scale solar farms and battery energy storage systems (BESS) across Australia. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, reliable, and large-scale renewable energy projects, we are expanding our leadership team to support continued growth.

We are seeking a driven and ambitious Operations Manager to join our Melbourne office in Tullamarine. This is a pivotal role with full P&L accountability and oversight of project performance, commercial outcomes, and operational delivery.

As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end performance of Tranex Solar's projects and operations. This role requires a balance of commercial acumen, project oversight, and strong leadership to ensure profitable, safe, and efficient project outcomes.

You will:

• Hold full P&L accountability for operational performance across multiple projects.
• Provide strategic oversight of all active projects, ensuring safety, quality, and financial targets are achieved.
• Lead commercial management functions, including contract negotiation, cost control, forecasting, and risk management.
• Drive operational efficiency through strong systems, reporting, and team leadership.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Commercial Managers, and site teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.
• Report regularly to the Managing Director on financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure successful long-term partnerships.
• Champion continuous improvement across safety, engineering, and operational delivery.

• Proven experience in operations management, preferably within construction, energy, or infrastructure.
• Strong financial management capability with direct P&L responsibility.
• Demonstrated commercial management skills including contract administration, variations, and claims.
• Solid background in project management with an ability to oversee multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and hold teams accountable.
• Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.
• High-level problem-solving skills with a proactive and solutions-driven mindset.
