Are you an experienced facade or window draftsperson looking to work with a team that values precision, collaboration, and quality outcomes? IM Partners is proud to partner with Facadex, a recognised leader in commercial facade solutions, to recruit a talented CAD Draftsperson to join their growing in-house team.

With a strong track record in delivering premium aluminium and glass systems for commercial projects – including a recent 2024 Master Builders Victoria Award for Excellence in Construction – Facadex continues to set the bar for facade innovation.

In order to work closely with our collaborative and supportive internal design team, and to foster strong engagement across projects, this position is based full-time in the Sunshine West office.

About the Role

As a CAD Draftsperson, you'll work on a variety of commercial facade projects, preparing technical drawings for shop drawing approvals, fabrication, and installation. You won't be stuck on one job for months – instead, you'll enjoy a fast-moving environment with multiple smaller-scale projects that keep things interesting.

You'll be a key part of the delivery process, helping to turn architectural concepts into fully resolved, buildable systems.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Design Manager, you will:

• Prepare shop drawings for facade cladding, window systems, and associated steelwork

• Produce fabrication drawings for use in factory production

• Modify and update drawings based on feedback from production or clients

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve buildability issues

• Ensure compliance with technical standards, codes, and project specifications

• Create 2D and (where needed) 3D drawings for documentation and coordination

• Occasionally attend client or project meetings (minimal travel required)

What You'll Bring

• Essential: Experience drafting for facade and/or window systems (Commercial preferred)

• Proficiency in AutoCAD; 3D CAD skills are a bonus

• Relevant qualification in engineering, drafting, industrial design, or similar

• Ability to interpret architectural drawings and develop detailed shop/fabrication drawings

• Familiarity with construction standards and manufacturing tolerances

• High attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines

• Strong communication skills and fluent English

• Full and unrestricted Australian working rights
