Our Opportunity

As a Senior Communications Advisor in our team, you will:

  • Work as part of a small team to develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate engaging communication strategies and plans for IP Australia staff.
  • Work with business area subject matter experts to create and deliver compelling news, events and social media-style content tailored largely to internal audiences.
  • Provide writing and editing support for communications across multiple channels.
  • Apply the APS Style Guide and our 'tone of voice' guidance to written communications and ensure consistency in our language style.
  • Provide support and coordination for the delivery of IP Australia's all staff internal events across a range of platforms, online, hybrid and face-to-face.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders.

We are looking to fill multiple positions in the team. Future positions may also be offered on an ongoing or non-ongoing basis subject to operational requirements.

Where a non-ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled for a specified term of up to 12 months.

Job specific capabilities

We require a well-organised professional who can juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Experience in developing and implementing communication plans and a broad range of communication tactics and activities
  • Proven experience in developing effective communication strategies which meet the needs of clients and customers
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in sourcing, writing and editing accessible and engaging communications content for a range of digital and traditional channels to required standards, such as intranets and printed publications
  • Commitment to a high level of customer service and satisfaction
  • Excellent time management skills
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
