  • Salary Package: From $99,161 to $109,457 p.a. (HEW Level 6), plus 17% superannuation and annual leave loading
  • Appointment Type: Full-time, continuing position (flexibility for hybrid work arrangements may be considered, subject to discussion with the hiring manager and following the successful completion of the probation period.
  • Location: Macquarie University, North Ryde

The Role

The Property Office – Timetabling team is seeking a dynamic and organised individual to develop and implement the University's academic timetable and coordinate teaching spaces and facilities.

In this role, you will:

  • Build and manage teaching timetables to achieve learning and teaching goals.
  • Coordinate, review, and evaluate curriculum, staff and space data to develop accurate timetables
  • Provide advice and support to staff on timetabling policies, procedures and curriculum/room use requirements.
  • Troubleshoot timetable challenges, negotiating modifications with stakeholders.
  • Contribute to projects that enhance timetabling systems, processes, and the student experience.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across faculties, schools, and shared services.

About You

You will have:

  • Proven experience in developing timetables or complex scheduling, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Experience in timetabling and scheduling software is essential
  • Degree qualification in a relevant field and/or equivalent experience.
  • Strong administration experience in complex, high-volume environments.
  • Experience analysing and reporting on data and business processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems.

The Property Office forms part of the Finance and Resources portfolio and is responsible for Macquarie University's owned and leased assets. The team plans, designs, delivers, and maintains infrastructure to meet the University's needs.

The Property Office includes:

Strategy and Planning – responsible for timetabling, planning and design, space management, sustainability, and commercial contracts.

Project Management – delivering refurbishment and construction projects across campus.

Client and Facility Services – ensuring the upkeep and smooth operation of all university facilities.

Essential Criteria

  • Degree qualification in a relevant field and/or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in timetabling and scheduling software.
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft office and a range of database management systems and applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, and proven ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders and with minimal levels of supervision.
  • Experience analysing and reporting on data and business processes.
  • Experience in scheduling and planning complex requirements.
  • Experience in providing advice and information regarding policies, preferably within a higher education setting.
  • Knowledge of tertiary education policies, processes and course and degree structures.
  • Experience working in the Higher Education Sector.
