Looking for a sea change? As Head Chef you will lead the kitchen operations of an exciting new restaurant opening on Melbourne's Bellarine Peninsula.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and oversee all culinary operations. The ideal candidate will be creative, organised, and committed to delivering exceptional food quality and dining experiences. This role requires strong leadership with a hands-on approach, menu development expertise, and a comprehensive understanding of kitchen operations and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute Mediterranean inspired seasonal menus with locally sourced high-quality produce
  • Oversee the day to day of kitchen operations to ensure efficiency, productivity, and good culture
  • Manage stock control, supplier relationships, food cost targets
  • Lead, train, mentor the kitchen team
  • Maintain compliance food and workplace safety standards
  • Collaborate with management to deliver an outstanding dining experience

Your Profile

What you will bring:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a premium dining environment
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and guide the team with a hands-on approach
  • Passionate about food and committed to delivering excellence
  • Experienced with food safety standards and compliance
  • Knowledge of Mediterranean/ Greek cuisine (or a genuine passion to learn)
