Gilgandra Shire Council is seeking a Urban Maintenance Team Leader to join the Infrastructure team

  • Full time 38 hours week
  • Rostered day off every fortnight - an extra 22 days off a year
  • Weekly pay cycle
  • Salary range $ $1491.85

ABOUT THE ROLE

To plan, supervise and undertake work to keep roadsides and footpaths clear of vegetation to assist fire prevention, ensure the streets are safe for all traffic, provide a clean environment and maintain amenity of the area. Work with the parks and gardens and/or water and sewer crews to provide urban services and amenity to Gilgandra, Tooraweenah and Armatree.

Essential

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2023.

ABOUT YOU

Council is looking for someone who has the following qualities, experience and/or qualifications:

  • Current Class C Drivers Licence
  • Possession of Safe Work WH&S Construction Induction Certificate (White Card)
  • Experience operating a tractor/slasher
  • Ability to perform risk assessments, conduct tool box meetings and lead small groups regarding Safe Work Method Statement development and reviews
  • Basic skills in operating a wide range of small plant and equipment/hand tools
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to WHS issues
  • The ability to supervise and lead others
  • The ability to manage time and priorities, people and resources to complete work
  • Ability to work unsupervised
