About the role:

Shape strategic decisions with your legal expertise.

We're seeking a proactive legal professional to join our team and provide commercially focused legal advice and services to RACQ and its group of entities. In this role, you'll play a key part in supporting operational and strategic goals—ensuring legal compliance, managing risk, and enabling sound decision-making across the business, with a particular focus on supporting financial services operations, such as insurance distribution and banking, and charitable community initiatives.

You'll bring a solid foundation of legal experience, a collaborative mindset, and the confidence to advise stakeholders across a diverse organisation. This is a great opportunity to deepen your impact and grow within a purpose-driven team.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver expert legal advice across corporate, commercial, regulatory, and governance matters to support RACQ Group's strategic and operational goals
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements, manage disputes and litigation, and liaise with external legal counsel as needed
• Support compliance and risk management by monitoring legislative developments, advising on legal obligations, and ensuring cost-effective legal practices
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify legal risks, provide training on key legal topics, and review marketing and membership materials
• Mentor junior legal staff and contribute to a positive, safety-conscious, and team-oriented workplace culture

About you:

• Hold a university degree in law, with at least 3 years of relevant legal experience
• Solid understanding of, and experience in the application of, financial services regulation and Australian Consumer Law
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across teams
• Proven ability to draft and negotiate a wide range of legal contracts and agreements
• Australian Consumer Law and Privacy legislation, Excellent time management, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment
• Confident using Microsoft Office and other business tools to support legal operations
