We are about to embark on our most exciting expansion yet: launching our first-ever BONIIK concession within Australia's iconic department store, MYER. We are seeking an exceptional Retail Operations Manager to lead our entire retail network and partner with us on this landmark launch.
This role will be the key operational expert ensuring a seamless and successful MYER rollout, and will then take full ownership of the concession's ongoing success alongside our existing stores.
The Role
As our Retail Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the performance, profitability, and leadership of our entire retail network. This role is a dual-focus position:
You will have full ownership of our existing store operations, driving sales, team performance, and operational excellence.
You will serve as the key operational partner and Subject Matter Expert (SME), supporting the Project Manager (our Director) with the delivery of the new BONIIK concession at MYER.
This is a hands-on leadership role, perfect for someone who can manage the day-to-day business flawlessly while also helping to build the blueprint for our future expansion.
Your Mission Will Involve:
1. Core Retail Operations (Your Day-to-Day)
P&L and Sales Management: Take full P&L responsibility for all retail locations. Develop and execute strategies to drive sales, manage operational budgets, and maximise profitability.
Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop all store teams. Manage recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and rostering.
Inventory & Stock Control: Oversee all inventory management, including stocktakes, ordering, and loss prevention, ensuring optimal stock levels and minimising shrinkage.
Store Standards: Champion an exceptional in-store experience. Ensure all stores meet the highest standards of visual merchandising, cleanliness, and brand presentation.
2. MYER Project Support (Your First Major Initiative)
Operational Partnership: Act as the primary operational liaison with the MYER teams (Operations, IT, Store Management) to ensure a smooth ongoing partnership after the project is built.
Operational Consultation: Serve as the SME for the project team. Review project plans (e.g., fit-out, fixtures, tech) and provide expert feedback on operational practicalities, WHS, and workflow.
Operational & Systems Readiness: Partner with the project team to test all operational necessities (POS systems, inventory integration) and ensure they are fit for purpose.
Team & Launch Readiness: You will lead this. Be responsible for recruiting, hiring, and training the new MYER concession team, ensuring they are day-one ready on both BONIIK standards and MYER store policies.
"Go-Live" & Ownership: Manage the "go-live" transition and immediately assume full P&L and operational ownership of the new concession from the day it opens.
Who We're Looking For
You are a senior retail leader and a commercial expert with a passion for operational excellence and building high-performing teams. You understand the unique challenges and opportunities of a concession environment and thrive on driving results.
Essential Skills & Experience: : Senior Retail Experience: 3-5+ years in a senior retail management role (e.g., Area Manager, Cluster Manager, Retail Operations Manager).
Department Store Expertise
:
Direct experience managing operations within major department stores (e.g., MYER, David Jones) is highly mandatory. You must know how to drive sales and manage relationships in this environment.
Strong P&L Acumen: You are a commercial leader, confident in building operational budgets, managing P&Ls, and reporting on financial performance.
Inspirational Leader: A natural mentor with a passion for building, motivating, and developing high-performing, engaged teams.
Multi-Site Management: Proven success in managing multiple retail stores simultaneously.
Operational Excellence: An expert in inventory control, loss prevention, rostering, and visual merchandising.
Beauty/Cosmetics Industry Passion: Experience or a strong passion for the beauty, skincare, or cosmetics industry is highly advantageous.
