About Heidi
Heidi is on a mission to halve the time it takes to deliver world-class care.
We believe that by 2050, every clinician will practice with AI systems that free them from administrative burdens and increase the quality and accessibility of care to patients across the world.
Built for clinicians, by clinicians, at the core of Heidi is its people. We are an eclectic bunch of inventors, builders, scientists, nurses, doctors, mathematicians, designers, creatives, and high-agency executors.
We achieve in 6 months what it takes our competitors 4 years to do. In just 12 months, 20 million patient consults were supported by Heidi, and we're now powering more than 1 million consults every week.
With our most recent $16.6MM round of funding from leading VC firms, we're geared up to supercharge our ambitious global growth, starting with the US, Canada, UK and Europe — and we need great people like you to get there. Ready for the challenge?
The Role
As our Compliance, Legal & Security Intern, you'll support the delivery and management of key compliance activities that underpin Heidi's operations. This role is perfect for a proactive, detail-oriented individual looking to gain hands-on experience in compliance, legal, and security functions within a fast-paced healthtech startup.
You'll work closely with our compliance and legal teams, ensuring that our systems, processes, and documentation meet regulatory, security, and quality standards.
What you'll do
- Support audits: Assist in the coordination and delivery of external audits, preparing required documentation and liaising with auditors.
- Maintain compliance systems: Help manage our Quality Management System (QMS) and audit tracking tools, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
- Cross-functional compliance: Work with teams across the company to support consistent compliance practices and identify gaps.
- Documentation management: Ensure compliance, security, and legal documents are current and accessible.
- Legal and compliance support: Provide assistance to the Legal and Compliance teams on ad hoc projects, research, and process improvements.
- Continuous improvement: Help identify opportunities to improve our compliance and audit readiness processes.
What we will look for
- Currently studying (or recently completed) a degree in Law, Business, Governance, Information Security, or a related discipline.
- Strong organisational and detail-oriented skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Interest in compliance, governance, security, and/or legal operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of initiative, willingness to learn, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
Why you will flourish with us
- Flexible hybrid working environment, minimum 3 days per week in the office (Melbourne or Sydney).
- Learn from a world-class team of compliance, legal, and security professionals.
- Additional paid day off for your birthday and wellness days.
- A rare chance to gain practical, hands-on experience in a high-growth healthtech startup.
- The opportunity to build the foundations of your career in compliance, legal, and security — with a pathway to future roles at Heidi.
