Role – Python React Developer with GIS experience
Location – Sydney
Short Description –
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Software Engineer with a strong understanding of the telecommunications domain to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible to build and deploy an Observability Application that supports analytics and automation across the Customer's Networks lines of business. The role involves designing and implementing GIS-enabled dashboards, data ingestion pipelines, and integrations with analytics platforms. You should have strong experience in Python, GIS technologies, and React, and will work across lab and production environments to deliver a robust, scalable solution. You will play a crucial role in building and maintaining critical systems that support our telecom infrastructure and services.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop an observability application with GIS-enabled dashboards for emergency response and network analytics.
- Define and implement data sources and ingestion pipelines for real-time and historical data.
- Establish data governance policies and access controls to ensure secure and compliant data usage.
- Integrate the application with existing analytics platforms and automation tools.
- Validate the solution in lab and production environments, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Deliver comprehensive documentation and facilitate operational handover to the Customer's teams.
- Apply your knowledge of the telecommunications domain to understand system requirements and contribute to effective solutions.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, system administrators, and product managers.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in software development and the telecommunications industry.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and tools.
- Write clear and concise technical documentation.
Skills /Competencies
8+ years of experience in the following areas:
GIS & Visualization:
- Experience with GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and mapping libraries (e.g., Leaflet, Mapbox, OpenLayers).
- Ability to build interactive geospatial dashboards for visualizing network events, alerts, and coverage.
- Understanding of spatial data formats (GeoJSON, shapefiles) and coordinate systems.
Frontend Development (React):
- Proficiency in for building responsive, user-friendly interfaces.
- Experience integrating GIS maps and real-time data visualizations into web applications.
- Familiarity with state management (Redux, Context API) and component-based architecture.
Backend Development & Data Engineering (Python):
- Strong skills in Python for backend services, data processing, and automation.
- Experience building data ingestion pipelines using tools like Apache Kafka, Flask, or FastAPI.
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs, data serialization, and ETL processes.
Integration & Automation:
- Ability to integrate with analytics platforms (e.g., ELK stack, Grafana) and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud deployment.
Educational Qualifications:
- Engineering Bachelors or master's degree level or equivalent
