Primary objective

Lead a team of workforce professionals delivering client-focussed human resource (HR) services across both specialised and generalist

disciplines to NTPS agencies and employees in the Alice Springs and Barkly region.

Context statement

Workforce services are delivered to client agencies under a centralised services model across a geographically and culturally diverse

environment.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Manage a small team of HR professionals, ensuring workforce management expertise is provided in a timely manner to clients.

2. Oversee case management of workplace issues across the Alice Springs region, recommending appropriate courses of action and early

intervention strategies.

3. Triage case management and workload within the team, allocate matters to the team and manage timeframes and client expectations.

4. Develop and maintain effective partnerships with clients, providers and other stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of business

objectives.

5. Undertake analysis of client agency people matters and HR data to inform and develop effective solutions.

6. Provide support to agencies consistent with best practice HR services aligned to legislative frameworks.

7. Participate and collaborate in the development of contemporary HR projects, procedures, policies and internal documentation aligned

to corporate objectives and public sector initiatives.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Highly developed leadership skills to lead and manage a small team in a multi-skilled, client focussed HR enterprise service

environment.

  1. Extensive experience and contemporary knowledge of strategic HR management including case management and organisational

effectiveness.

  1. Demonstrated high level planning, problem solving and organisational skills, including the effective management of multiple workforce

matters and high priority tasks, to meet conflicting deadlines.

4. Excellent communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills with the ability to establish collaborative relationships at all levels,

and across client agencies, to positively influence HR practices.

5. Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills including extensive experience in interpreting and applying legislation.

6. Highly developed written skills with the ability to analyse information for preparing a range of correspondence/documents including

the ability to review and provide feedback as required.

accountability, impartiality, diversity and respect.

Desirable

1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in HR or a related field.

2. Knowledge and understanding of employment legislation as it relates to Northern Territory Government employees or ability to quickly

obtain.

Further information

Relocation allowance at $661 per fortnight (employee only) or $914 per fortnight (employee with resident family) over 10 fortnights or as

a lump sum, and payment of relocation expenses may be offered to the successful candidate. The recommended applicant will be required
