Our Opportunity

Work Location:  Fortescue's Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people.

Roster:  8D/6R - FIFO ex Perth

Join Fortescue at a pivotal and innovative time in our mining journey. As we continue to transform the way we operate through cutting-edge technology and future-focused projects, we are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Trainer and Assessor – High Risk to support our teams on site.

In this role, you will play a vital part in building capability across our workforce by delivering high-quality training and assessment in high-risk competencies, ensuring our people are equipped, confident and compliant to operate safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitation of High Risk Operations Training and Assessing
  • Delivery of Fortescue specific Training and Assessments including Verification of Competency Assessments
  • Maintain accurate and compliant training records, including digital training matrices for personnel, to ensure needs are met
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and work without supervision
  • Well organised and excellent time management skills with strong attention to details skills
  • Hands on approach to teamwork, positive attitude and superior customer service skills are essential
  • Administrative and scheduling duties as required
Qualifications and Experience
  • Current Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment
  • WorkSafe Assessor Accreditation
  • Proven experience and specialist skills in the specific high-risk work areas being taught
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of Mining practices and technical systems with the ability to train content in a professional manner
  • Licensed to train and deliver
    • Dogging (DG) HRWL
    • Forklift (LF) HRWL
    • Crane (CN / CV) HRWL
    • Elevated Work Platform (EWP) HRWL
    • Working at Heights (NUOC)
    • Confined Space Entry and Gas Testing (NUOC)
  • Intermediate/Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite
  • SAP / LMS experience highly regarded
