The Role:

This is an ongoing part time position at 0.55EFT, 42 hours a fortnight with the Eating Disorders Team at the Department of Adolescent Medicine.

You will be responsible for undertaking data collection, collating and recording results and maintaining accurate and effective database systems whilst preparing statistical reports and summaries of patient data for clinic use. You will work closely with the Evaluation Coordinator and problem solve with the ED team regarding data collection issues and participant recruitment issues.

Working alongside the Evaluation Coordinator, the Evaluation Assistant will undertake data collection, collate results and record data collected from online questionnaires and is responsible for maintaining accurate and up to date databases ensuring data is received accurately and complies with Ethic procedures.

What You'll Achieve:

  • Ensure data is recorded accurately, legibly and securely, and complies with Ethics procedures for projects undertaken by RCH ED Service
  • Maintain accurate, quality and effective data collection and maintenance of data within the administrative databases
  • Prepare statistical reports and summaries of patient data for clinical use and check accuracy of reports
  • Provide high level customer service to patients and families and Attend and contribute to Eating Disorders clinical and operational inpatient and outpatient team meetings
  • Maintain positive relationships with study participants and clinical staff

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Technical/administrative training with several years' experience, or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to work and contribute as part of a team
  • Commenced or completed Tertiary qualification (preferably in health, social or behavioural sciences field)
  • Proficiency in data collection systems and maintaining large data sets

About The Department:

The Department of Adolescent Medicine, Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne, is a multidisciplinary specialty department providing inpatient and outpatient care to adolescents experiencing both physical and mental health concerns. Sub-speciality teams within the Department of Adolescent Medicine include the Eating Disorders Service, specialising in treating adolescents with anorexia nervosa and other restrictive eating disorders, the Gender Service who assist children and adolescents experiencing gender dysphoria, The Transition Support Service providing care in transition from paediatric to adult health providers, the Young People's Health Service who provide primary health care for marginalised and at risk youth and the Chronic Illness Peer support (ChIPS) team who facilitate peer support, leadership and participation among adolescent and young adults aged 12-25 living with a chronic illness.

To be Successful in This Role You Will Have:

  • Technical/administrative training with several years' experience, or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to work and contribute as part of a team
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of established administrative processes

Other requirements:

  • Current National Criminal Record Check, or willing to obtain
  • Valid Working with Children Check
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willing to obtain
  • Compliance with RCHs "Staff Immunisation - Prevention of Vaccine Preventable Diseases" procedure
