Introducing the Nepean Adolescent Mental Health Unit (NAHMU), a fresh, purpose built 10-bed facility dedicated to supporting adolescents aged 12 to 17 who are navigating complex and severe mental health challenges. This state-of-the-art inpatient unit is the newest chapter in the Child, Youth and Family Mental Health (CYFMH) story, expanding its reach to provide compassionate, specialised care from the earliest stages of life through to young adulthood. The Nepean Adolescent Mental Health Unit (NAMHU) is seeking a passionate and visionary Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) to lead the way in clinical excellence and education. As the CNE, you'll be the driving force behind professional development, identifying learning needs, designing and delivering targeted education programs, and ensuring clinical competencies are met with confidence. Your leadership will foster a culture of reflective practice, continuous learning, and innovation, working in close partnership with interdisciplinary teams and unit leadership. You'll guide staff in clinical practice, support onboarding and ongoing training, and shape the unit's education strategy.

What you will bring to the role

• Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA).
• Relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications, or such education and clinical experience (preferably in child and adolescent mental health) deemed appropriate by the employer.
• Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes that align with NSW Health's organisation's CORE values of; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment, when interacting with staff, patients, consumers, and carers.
• Demonstrated ability to design, implement and evaluate clinical education at the ward/unit level, and provide support and guidance to ensure an appropriately skilled and qualified nursing and midwifery workforce, working within appropriate models of care.
• Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous quality improvement and the maintenance of a learning environment that values and encourages learning and reflective practice.
• Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation, feedback and conflict resolution.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate, support and engage people in the clinical setting and work professionally in an interdisciplinary team.
• Evidence of computer literacy and experience using Microsoft Office Suite and record management systems.
