Australian Saltworks is seeking a passionate and experienced Payroll Officer to work 3 days per week in their Head Office, based at Mulgundawa, 15 minutes South of Murray Bridge.
About the role
As our Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the company's payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payments to our valued employees.
What you'll be doing
- Process weekly payroll, including calculating wages, deductions, and benefits
- Maintain employee records, HRIS and update payroll information as required
- Ensure compliance with all relevant payroll legislation and regulations
- Provide support and guidance to employees regarding payroll-related inquiries
- Collaborate with the finance team to reconcile payroll-related accounts
- Assist with the preparation of payroll reports and documentation
- Continuously look for ways to improve payroll processes and efficiencies
What we're looking for
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a payroll officer or similar role
- Strong knowledge of payroll processing, including calculating wages, deductions, and benefits. Experience with multiple awards and superannuation compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Proficient in using payroll software (e.g., MYOB Acumatica) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- A team player who can work within the Administration team and other departments
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and privacy of employee information
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency with full working rights in Australia
