Driver & Packaging Warehouse Operator (12 months Fixed Term Contract)

Job Summary:

The Driver & Packaging Warehouse Operator is responsible for the safe and timely transport of goods, while also supporting warehouse packaging operations for temperature-sensitive shipments. The role combines corporate driving duties with packaging, handling, and monitoring responsibilities, ensuring full compliance with company processes, health and safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

Driving Responsibilities

• Safely operate company vehicles for the transport of goods, adhering to road safety regulations and company policies.

• Ensure timely collection and delivery of shipments between company facilities, clients, and external partners.

• Conduct daily vehicle checks and maintain vehicle cleanliness, both interior and exterior.

• Report defects, incidents, or near misses promptly in line with company reporting procedures.

• Maintain appropriate load securing and handling standards, including temperature-sensitive cargo.

• Represent the company professionally during deliveries, demonstrating strong customer service and communication skills.

Warehouse & Packaging Operations

• Maintain and present warehouse packaging areas to professional standards.

• Manage ad-hoc packaging orders with accuracy and timeliness.

Temperature-Controlled Packaging (PCMs & Equipment)

• Prepare and condition Phase Change Materials (PCMs) / gel packs in line with preconditioning plans.

• Set up cocoons and pallet shippers as per shipment requirements.

• Clean, refurbish, and track GTC packaging and dry shippers using the multi-use cleaning log.

Stock & Reporting

• Maintain packaging reports, including PCM checks, GTC returns, and stock records.

• Conduct monthly stock checks and document results.

• Manage inter-office ordering of packaging consumables and equipment.

Systems & Software

• Process packaging job bookings in TMS.

• Operate CUBIXX and X-act systems for reporting and compliance tasks.

• Configure and monitor temperature devices using approved software.

Shipment Handling & Compliance

• Prepare and handle shipments in accordance with company and regulatory standards.

• Apply correct temperature monitoring processes to shipments.

• Ensure correct use of PPE during packaging, handling, and driving activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Current and valid driver's licence (appropriate class for vehicles operated).

• Proven experience as a professional driver in logistics or corporate environment.

• Experience in warehouse, packaging, or cold-chain operations highly desirable.

• Strong knowledge of temperature-sensitive packaging requirements.

• Proficiency with logistics system and warehouse systems

• Commitment to workplace health and safety standards.
