Description

The ROLE

  • Demonstrated commitment to a safe working environment and contribute to the development of the Safety 1st culture.
  • Delivery of projects in line with department process and procedures.
  • Prepare and submit tenders for future works and review of unsuccessful tenders.
  • Work to meet and exceed customer expectations through effective communication and service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all business regulations and contractual terms related to cost and budgeting.
  • Manage procurement and sub-contract selection process.
  • Implementation of an effective cost management system that manages, daily cost entry, monthly progress claims, accruals and cost transfers to ensure an accurate cost to date is achieved for each project.

Skills And Experiences

About YOU 

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent (highly desirable).
  • Experience managing small to medium projects.
  • Construction Industry White Card.
  • Full Tasmanian Drivers licence.
  • Certificates in project/construction project management (highly desirable).
  • Current Australian Working Rights.

Key Skills

  • Excellent time management, prioritisation and self-management.
  • Excellent competency in project delivery and financial reporting.
  • Ability to effectively communicate to and manage relationships with both internal and external stakeholders demonstrating excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to continually challenge assumptions and methods and recommend initiatives.

Essential knowledge

  • Job Safety Analysis, hazard awareness, identification and controls.
  • Established leadership and operational management skills.
  • Understanding of regulatory governance and legislative requirements.

Essential knowledge

  • Current First Aid certification.
  • Traffic control or TMI
  • Experience working with or for local councils.
