Financial Controller

Air Control Australia, together with our regional sister company Chill-Rite Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, is entering a major new chapter of expansion. With strong, sustained year-on-year growth of around 30% and a clear trajectory toward becoming one of the larger national operators in our sector, we are strengthening our leadership team with a highly capable Financial Controller.

This is a high-impact role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment. You'll oversee finance operations across our national footprint — including Victoria (Head Office), NSW/ACT, Queensland, and key regional hubs such as Dubbo, Orange, Bathurst, Newcastle, Tamworth, Coffs Harbour and Mudgee.

About the Role

As our Financial Controller, you will be responsible for leading and developing the finance function across both organisations as we continue to scale across Australia.

You will:

• Provide leadership, oversight, and technical guidance across all finance activities
• Manage financial reporting, month-end processes, and compliance requirements
• Oversee management accounting and cost accounting, ensuring accurate job costing, margin analysis, overhead allocation and operational reporting
• Build robust processes, systems, and controls that support scalable national growth
• Work closely with senior leadership, operations, and project teams to deliver commercial insight
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management, and financial planning
• Drive continuous improvement across finance functions and reporting structures
• Support and mentor the existing finance teams across accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and regional finance support
• Play a key role in establishing the financial infrastructure required for our ongoing expansion

What We're Looking For

We are seeking a Financial Controller who brings:

• CA/CPA qualification and strong experience in a Financial Controller or Senior Finance role
• A commercial mindset and the ability to translate financial data into meaningful business insight
• The confidence to work in a fast-moving, growing organisation
• Energy, integrity, drive, and a hands-on approach
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across departments
• Experience in project-based, construction, trades, or building services environments (preferred)
• A passion for continuous improvement and building scalable financial frameworks
