Bayswater North, Victoria, Australia Cirql Full time $80,000 - $120,000 per year
About the Company

At Cirql, we don't focus on industry specifics - our core specialisation is partnering with middle-market organisations that are experiencing change. This client is the perfect example of that - an established and high-growth manufacturing company proactively structuring its financial control systems, processes, and capability for the next wave of expansion.

They are a Private Equity-backed business and a leading force in the manufacturing sector, comprising specialised business units with a clear trajectory to continue growth both organically and non-organically across the organisation. As part of a larger, global group, their operations span multiple sites across Australia and internationally.

Their environment is a fast-paced blend of strategic finance, M&A execution, and operational transformation. They thrive on the complexity of integrating new businesses and solving the challenges that come with rapid scaling. This is an environment for building new and better ways to do things in finance and adding real value to commercial operations.

About the Opportunity

This is a commercial, hands-on accounting role managing a key manufacturing subsidiary, this role is pivotal to the organisational success. With a special focus on driving discipline, process integrity, and data hygiene, we are seeking a proactive Accountant to take ownership of the month-end and be instrumental in upgrading core operational accounting functions.

Your primary focus will be on monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, inventory control, cash flow management, and ensuring the accuracy of AP/AR. This role is perfect for someone who loves to get into the business, improve processes, and establish the robust foundations needed to support a high-growth business.

What You Will Do

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be the bedrock of financial integrity for the entity. Your role is designed to be a positive agent of change, blending core accounting with hands-on process improvement.

  • Drive and execute the end-to-end month-end process, including journals, reconciliations, and analysis, championing a culture of timeliness and accuracy.
  • Take full ownership of inventory accounting, focusing on improving data integrity within the ERP by proactively monitoring stock movements, managing robust cycle counts, and addressing logging challenges to minimise year-end write-offs.
  • Drive improvements in core transactional processes, ensuring the procure-to-pay (AP) and invoicing (AR) cycles are managed correctly and efficiently.
  • Take ownership of day-to-day cash flow management, including the preparation of detailed cash flow reporting and forecasting.
  • Prepare insightful monthly management reports and assist with annual financial statements.
  • Manage tax compliance obligations, including the calculations for Deferred Tax Assets (DTA) and Deferred Tax Liabilities (DTL).
  • Support the end-to-end external audit process for the entity, ensuring a smooth and efficient partnership with auditors.
  • Foster strong collaborative partnerships with the site leadership team and operational stakeholders, comfortably having difficult but constructive conversations to drive process adherence.
  • Leverage the ERP system, identifying opportunities for uplift and process automation to build a scalable and efficient finance function for the future.

What You Will Bring

The ideal candidate is a CA/CPA (or working towards) qualified professional with a strong foundation in core accounting principles. You will have a proactive, "hands-on" attitude and an operational improvement mindset, with a passion for fixing issues and creating efficient, scalable processes. We are looking for someone with a proven track record of enhancing financial processes. You must possess an agile and mature mindset, thriving in a dynamic environment and viewing change as an opportunity. Exceptional communication skills are essential, able to build trust quickly and engage with stakeholders from the workshop floor to senior leadership. A natural drive to take ownership and deliver outstanding results with autonomy is required.

Why Join Us?

This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on first mover, Assistant Accountant, or Financial Accountant who is driven to build, innovate, and make a tangible impact.

Unlike many opportunities, you won't just be sitting behind a desk, you will be at the heart of the business, establishing the robust financial foundations that will directly fuel future success. You will be empowered with the autonomy to take ownership, drive meaningful change in data and inventory integrity, and create a legacy of best-in-class financial processes.

Not sure if you meet these requirements? Please apply — we are happy to discuss your individual circumstances.
