Inventory Controller & Requirements Planner (6–12 Month Contract)

Location: North Melbourne | Business Unit: Textile Division

We're looking for a motivated Inventory Controller & Requirements Planner to join our Textile team on a 6–12 month contract.

Reporting to the Supply & Distribution Manager – ANZ, you'll play a key role in driving the efficiency and success of our textile operations. You'll manage D365 inputs, oversee item and inventory control, and ensure smooth materials planning across all sites.

About the Role

In this role, you'll:


• Manage end-to-end inventory requirements using D365, ensuring stock levels meet demand without overholding.


• Create and maintain item codes and specifications for textile products.


• Analyse supply chain processes, identifying improvements and developing effective solutions.


• Develop and maintain visual metrics, reports, and process documentation.


• Liaise with state-based teams on Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), stock requirements, and product specifications.


• Optimise on-time delivery, stock turns, and inventory performance.


• Source quotes and raise purchase orders for overseas suppliers in support of VMI operations.

About You

You'll bring at least 5 years' experience in materials planning or purchasing, ideally within a supply chain, logistics, or manufacturing environment.

You'll also demonstrate:


• Strong commercial and analytical skills


• Excellent written and verbal communication


• A deep understanding of import processes, financial reports, and terminology


• Strong time management and a proactive, improvement-focused mindset


• Proven ability to build trusted relationships across internal teams and suppliers

A tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business will be highly regarded.
