About the Role

We're seeking a strategic and experienced State Sales Manager to lead our national merchandising team and drive commercial performance across our retail footprint. This role is responsible for developing and executing merchandising strategies, managing team performance, and using data-driven insights to optimise product presentation, pricing, and inventory.

You'll work cross-functionally with buying, marketing, and retail teams to ensure our products are visually compelling, commercially successful, and aligned with customer expectations.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Merchandising


• Develop and implement seasonal merchandising strategies aligned with business goals


• Collaborate with buyers and designers to optimise product ranges and respond to market trends


• Analyse sales data and customer behaviour to inform decisions and reduce credits

Team Leadership


• Lead, coach, and develop a national team of merchandisers


• Manage rosters, call frequencies, and field force spend in line with budget


• Foster a high-performance culture with clear goals and structured feedback

Visual Execution


• Ensure high merchandising standards across all stores


• Coordinate promotional events, store openings, and charity activations


• Maintain product quality and visual appeal through training and compliance

Commercial Performance


• Monitor pricing strategies and promotional campaigns


• Review algorithmic orders and SOR forecasts to maximise profitability


• Prepare regular performance reports and drive accountability using business tools

Stakeholder Engagement


• Build strong relationships with retailers, buyers, and store managers


• Align promotional activities with retailer marketing teams


• Manage customer orders and ensure compliance with company terms


What You'll Bring


• 3–5 years' experience in a merchandising leadership role


• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams


• Strong analytical skills and experience with sales reporting tools


• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills


• Creativity and attention to detail in visual merchandising


• Experience in FMCG, supermarket chains, or production environments preferred


• Certifications in visual merchandising, inventory management, or retail operations (desirable)
