About the Centre
The UTS Centre for Quantum Software and Information (QSI) in the School of Computer Science is focused on theoretical research into quantum information science and the software and information processing infrastructure required for future quantum technologies. As quantum information technologies transition from the laboratory to the marketplace, QSI strives to be an inclusive environment that encourages advanced research and the nurturing of talent. QSI's focus on theory and software places it in a unique position in the vibrant quantum technology community in Sydney and Australia which has resulted in UTS being a founding partner of key initiatives such as the recently announced &Quantum Australia& growth centre, the Sydney Quantum Academy, and the Australian Quantum Software Network.
About the role
As the Postdoctoral Research Fellow, you will Conduct research on the verification of quantum circuits/programs and on refinement techniques for quantum programming, supported by the Australian Research Council's Discovery Project Scheme. The primary responsibilities are:
Designing efficient algorithms and developing prototype software tools for the verification of quantum circuits; and
Establishing a theoretical foundation for refinement techniques in quantum programming.
About you
As the Postdoctoral Research Fellow, you will have demonstrated experience in the topics of quantum circuit compilation, quantum programming theory and/or formal verification of quantum circuits/programs. Other requirements will include:
• A PhD Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a very closely related field
• Demonstrated track record in Quantum Computing or Computer Science through high quality research publications (in top journals/conferences in the related areas)
• Strong software development skills or an advanced background in classical program verification
• Familiarity with relevant computer software and research & teaching practices

Remuneration
Base Salary Range: $125,240 - $148,229 pa (Level B)
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.
This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a fixed term basis for 12 months
