About the role As a Postdoctoral Research Associate – Cell Modulation, you'll be based at the UTS Node and will work closely with distinguished scientists. You would be part of a vibrant, multidisciplinary team, working with leading researchers from the University of Queensland (UQ), the University of Melbourne (UoM), the University of Wollongong (UoW), Flinders University (FLD), and international partners such as MIT and Johns Hopkins. About You As the Postdoctoral Research Associate you be at the forefront of developing nanoscale opto-electrodes for the modulation of neuronal and cardiomyocyte activities, with the potential to shape the future of biomedical imaging and clean energy. If you're a highly motivated, collaborative individual with a background in opto-electronics and materials, ready to make a significant impact on the intersection of quantum and biotechnology, then we want you to join our team today. To be successful in this role you will need to meet the following key selection criteria for this role:

  • PhD in chemistry, bio-chemistry, material physics, in particularly, opto-electronics and nanotechnology.
  • Ability to undertake original research, as evidenced by timely and high-quality outputs.
  • Willingness to contribute to seek research funding from external sources.
  • Extensive knowledge and skills in organic and inorganic synthesis of hybrid nanoparticles, optical characterization of single nanoparticle spectroscopy.
  • At least two years of postdoc experience with strong track records competitive for the ARC DECRA (or industry) fellowships.
  • Previous experience in research in an area relevance to fluorescence microscopy, characterization, and single nanoparticle spectroscopy.

What We Offer Base Salary Range: $94,152 - $114,672 (Level A), plus 17% superannuation (pension). The position is full-time and will be made 24-month fixed term basis.
