We're seeking a driven Business Development Manager (BDM) to play a pivotal role in delivering this ambition. Reporting directly to the Head of Sales, Marketing & New Product Development, this is a hands-on commercial role with the opportunity to directly influence Tasmanian Bakeries' growth story.

About the Role

This position is full-time (38 hours per week), based in our Melbourne office.

As our BDM, you will:

  • Lead the pursuit of large-scale new business opportunities with major retailers, foodservice distributors, and private label customers.
  • Drive commercial growth with a clear target of unlocking incremental revenue by FY27.
  • Build and maintain strong commercial relationships across retail and foodservice channels.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Operations, Marketing, NPD) to ensure customer requirements are met and exceeded.
  • Secure ranging, negotiate trading terms, and deliver successful new business initiatives.
  • Track and report progress against revenue targets to the leadership team.
  • Travel interstate as required to support customers and opportunities.

What We're Looking For

Ideally, you are someone who thrives in a fast-paced FMCG environment and brings:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in business development, account management, or sales within FMCG, food, or similar.
  • Proven experience in the Foodservice Channel, with extensive industry knowledge across both Australia and New Zealand.
  • A track record of hitting and exceeding sales targets, with strong negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Commercial acumen – comfortable with pricing, margins, and P&L drivers.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • A self-starter who is proactive, resilient, and solutions-focused.
  • Collaborative mindset – able to work cross-functionally and bring teams together.
  • Passion for food and innovation – a genuine "foodie" with energy and drive.
