Australia Climate Friendly Pty Full time $60,000 - $100,000 per year

About us

Acting to combat climate change is one of the world's most pressing challenges. Climate Friendly was founded in 2003 as a profit-for-purpose business. Our growing team is passionate about active land management, focused on economically viable solutions to maximise climate change action.

As one of Australia's most experienced carbon farming project service providers, we partner with farmers, plantation managers, agribusinesses, environment organisations and Indigenous groups on more than 180 carbon farming projects.

Through these projects Climate Friendly has delivered more than 33Mt in carbon abatement to date. Our mission is to establish partnerships that will store or reduce 250Mt of CO2e by 2030 while delivering quantified nature repair and advancing reconciliation.

We have a genuinely friendly and supportive culture where everyone has a voice and opportunity to help shape our future and to fulfil our purpose.

The role

As Communications and Engagement Manager, you will lead the creation and delivery of compelling content that promotes Climate Friendly's work, expertise, and leadership in carbon farming and nature repair.

Reporting to the Head of Public Affairs, Marketing & Communications, you will translate scientific and technical concepts into clear, engaging copy and visuals tailored for non-scientific audiences.

You will identify content opportunities that highlight Climate Friendly's achievements, build a strong social media presence reflecting best-practice leadership, and produce visual materials that enhance the reach and impact of written communications across internal and external channels.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Content Development and Scientific Storytelling

  • Translating scientific processes and outputs into compelling visual and written communications for diverse audiences.
  • Generating novel content ideas aligned with Climate Friendly's communications plans and strategic business objectives.
  • Writing copy that conveys key messages and core narratives clearly and effectively for different audiences.
  • Designing and creating content, including graphics, infographics, and videos, for internal and external use.
  • Supporting the development and refinement of communications plans by providing content expertise and creative input.

  • Managing content on the Climate Friendly website, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and timely updates.
  • Planning and implementing campaigns across social media channels to drive engagement, brand awareness, and lead generation.

  • Coordinating cross-channel content publication to maintain consistency and alignment with brand messaging.

Audience Engagement and Analytics

  • Monitoring relevant media, industry trends, and emerging insights to inform communications strategy.
  • Tracking, analysing, and reporting on audience engagement and campaign performance across digital and communication channels.
  • Developing continual improvement strategies to optimise social media engagement, campaign outcomes, and audience reach.

Communications Planning and Project Coordination

  • Contributing to the development and ongoing refinement of communications plans.
  • Maintaining and updating communications materials for the Climate Friendly team in central repositories (e.g., SharePoint).
  • Planning, coordinating, and tracking delivery of communications projects using project management tools (e.g., Asana) to ensure deadlines and objectives are met.
