Melbourne Victoria Australia Australian Mining and Automotive Skills Alliance Full time $80,000 - $120,000 per year

About the role

As the Communications and Engagement Campaign Lead, you'll take ownership of end-to-end communication and engagement for strategic reform projects and high-visibility initiatives, from the Workforce Plan (WFP) and Strategic Workforce Advisory Panels (SWAPs) to Training Product Development and Industry Engagement.

By getting involved early in project planning, you'll ensure communications are strategic, audience-focused, and outcome-driven. You'll lead delivery across digital channels including website, EDMs, and LinkedIn, making sure AUSMASA's messaging is cohesive, measurable, and continuously improving.

You'll also play a key role in maintaining organisational consistency and governance, ensuring communications align with AUSMASA's strategy while supporting functional teams (e.g., Training Products, Workforce Intelligence) to retain content ownership and accuracy.

What you'll do

  • Lead end-to-end communications and engagement for multiple high-visibility projects, including the Workforce Plan, Training Product Development, and Strategic Workforce Advisory Panels.
  • Develop clear, audience-focused content, from project updates and surveys to executive messaging, speaking notes, and industry updates.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to co-design messaging strategies and ensure communications are aligned with project plans and strategic objectives.
  • Manage digital channels, including website content, EDMs, newsletters, and LinkedIn, ensuring messaging is consistent, engaging, and measurable.
  • Track, analyse, and report on campaign performance to inform continuous improvement.
  • Support internal communications, governance, and brand consistency across all outputs.

This is a Fixed-Term contract until June 2028

About you

You're a strategic thinker who thrives on variety, loves collaborating across teams, and brings creativity, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset to every project.

You bring:

• Tertiary qualifications in Communications, PR, Marketing, or Journalism, or equivalent experience.

• Proven experience delivering communications strategies in complex or reform-driven environments.

• Strong written communication skills, with the ability to develop clear, engaging content.

• Experience managing digital channels, including CMS, EDMs, and LinkedIn (Campaign Monitor, Umbraco, Snapforms).

• Agile and organised, able to manage multiple projects and competing priorities effectively.

Even better if you also have:

• Experience in education, training, government, or membership-based environments.

• Knowledge of Australia's VET system and/or the mining and automotive sectors.

• Experience working in small, agile, national teams.

Why Join AUSMASA?

At AUSMASA, you'll be part of a collaborative, purpose-driven organisation shaping Australia's future workforce. We offer:

• A supportive, flexible hybrid work environment

• Meaningful, high-impact work with industry and government partners

• Professional development and genuine career growth opportunities

• A commitment to diversity, inclusion, and wellbeing
