Senior Community Engagement Specialist - Maximum Term - Perth CBD office

We're seeking a Senior Community Engagement Specialist to join our team for a 12-month maximum term opportunity — where you'll play a key role in connecting stakeholders with our Clean Energy Link projects.
In this pivotal role, you'll lead strategic engagement that will be the driving force behind building trust, strengthening partnerships, and support the successful delivery of projects critical to Western Power's vision for a reliable, affordable, and renewable energy future.

Your Role in Action
Manage and align stakeholder relationships, particularly with local government and project partners, to support Western Power's strategic objectives.Strengthen community relationships and reputation, while minimising the impact of infrastructure projects.Provide strategic communications and engagement expertise to support internal and external initiatives.Work closely with other disciplines in the Social Performance & Approvals Function, and across the business.Facilitate proactive face-to-face engagement and manage sensitive or contentious issues effectively.Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory obligations related to community engagement.Represent Western Power in crisis situations and corporate or community events as required.Champion community engagement internally and report on project communication activities, outcomes, and lessons learned.What Makes You a Great Fit
Demonstrated experience in strategic stakeholder relationship management for complex infrastructure projects or organisations with a proven ability to build strong partnerships, communicate complex information effectively, and proactively manage community and project-related interactions.Proven experience and knowledge in communication, community engagement, stakeholder management or a related field.Tertiary qualification in Communications, Social Planning and Sciences, Marketing, or related discipline.Demonstrated and high-level subject matter expertise and experience in incorporating best practice communication / community and stakeholder engagement practices.Understanding of International Association of Public Participation spectrum.Ability to prioritise work and critically assess own performance.Excellent listening skills with a strong ability to demonstrate understanding and empathy.By joining Western Power, you will contribute to powering a cleaner energy future.
